DeckShift Privacy Policy
Overview
DeckShift (“we”, “us”) builds spaced-repetition flashcards that adapt to how you remember. We designed the app to collect as little personal data as possible. This policy explains what we handle and why.
Account information
When you sign in with Apple, we receive an identifier and, if you allow it, your email address. We use this only to create and secure your account and to sync your decks across your devices. We never sell this information.
Your study content
Decks, cards, review ratings, and study history that you create are stored in your account so the app can schedule reviews and show your progress. This content belongs to you and is visible only to your account.
AI card generation
AI card generation is off until you turn it on. When you do, the text you choose to convert is sent through our secure server to AI providers (OpenAI and Google) to draft flashcards.
Your original files (such as PDFs) are read on your device and are not uploaded. Only the text you submit is processed, and it is not retained by us after your cards are generated.
Data we do not collect
We do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs, and we do not collect your location, contacts, photo library, or advertising identifier. Data sent to AI providers is passed through to serve your request in real time and is not stored by us beyond that purpose.
Subscriptions
Purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to verify your subscription status. We receive subscription state (active or not) but not your payment details.
Data retention and deletion
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting your account permanently removes your decks, cards, and review history from our systems. You may also request data retention details by contacting us.
Children
DeckShift is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
